Design of the OpenPrivacy Distributed Reputation System
نویسنده
چکیده
We describe the design of a reputation system which can incorporate a trust network of users (identities) in order to measure the quality of any arbitrary resource (including any other user or object). This system has the characteristics of being able to calculate reputations in a distributed peer-to-peer network and is attack-repellent to all but the most powerful adversaries. Reputes are used to represent certifications which can then be aggregated to form a graph allowing the user to compute the reputation for a given target. The system takes into account the existence of privacy enhancing technologies and is be able to support a high degree of anonymity.

A collusion mitigation scheme for reputation systems
Reputation management systems are in wide-spread use to regulate collaborations in cooperative systems. Collusion is one of the most destructive malicious behaviors in which colluders seek to affect a reputation management system in an unfair manner. Many reputation systems are vulnerable to collusion, and some model-specific mitigation methods are proposed to combat collusion. Detection of col...
متن کاملTowards an Architecture for Distributed Reputation-Enhanced Web Service Discovery
This deliverable introduces the idea of an architecture for distributed Web Service discovery, describing the scenario and related technologies, defining a model to represent the information involved in the process and sketching a way to represent, store and retrieve it in a distributed architecture. It also introduces the idea of using reputation as part of this architecture, sketching a preli...
متن کاملAn Introduction to the Literature on Online Reputation Systems for the MMAPPS project
This document provides an introduction to the research literature on online reputation systems. It has been written with a view to providing background and context for MMAPPS system design plans and is therefore focused on distributed systems. There is a companion annotated bibliography of summary and reading notes for many of the articles discussed in this document in the accompanying References.
متن کاملThe design of a reliable reputation system
Next generation Web 2.0 communities and distributed P2P systems rely on the cooperation of diverse user populations spread across numerous administrative and security domains. Zero accountability via anonymous online identities and divergent interests result in selfish behavior that can disrupt or manipulate networks for personal gain. While “reputation systems” are recognized as a promising me...
متن کاملThe Buddy System: A Distributed Reputation System Based on Social Structure
In P2P networks, there are no incentives to cooperate. There is neither a reward for cooperation nor a punishment for non-cooperation. A distributed reputation system could solve this problem, by giving means of managing trust towards other entities and discovering vicious entities. The existing distributed reputation systems are based on plausibility considerations and, thus, have several limi...
